MOOOOOOOOO
So the farm is not in our future list of places to go for Mason to see. He HATES the sound a cow makes!! And I don't just mean saying something like "a cow goes moo". He hates when we imitate what a cow actually sounds like "MMooooooooOOOOOOOOO". It starts with a very pouty lip then goes into a full out cry! Everytime! Not sure why??!! Of course, now I sound like a superstar parent making it seem like we do this to him all the time. Well, we do. But just to see if he's outgrown it!!! (Or like below when I wanted to catch it on camera.) We love you Mason!

6,7,8 months
Maybe one of these days I'll be able to do those short, sweet blog posts of something cute we did that day, or something new Mason is now doing, instead of these long LONG overdue updates. Until then, for the one person (my mom) who reads this blog, here you go...
6 month stats (December 23rd)
Weight: 18 lbs 4 oz (63rd %)
Height: 27 inches (69th %)
At 8 months (February 23rd), I'm guessing he reached the 20 pound mark. We have a big boy on our hands! Our next appointment is not until 9 months later this March.
We started solids when he was 6 months. We did rice cereal for a week or 2, then switched to oatmeal. He's had carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, squash, peas, apples, peaches, pears, and bananas. He LOVES bananas, squash, apples, carrots, and peaches. He HATES peas. Who could blame him, YUCK!!! He's like the typical baby in those baby books that say start veggies first or they'll only prefer the sweet stuff. Well, he loves the sweet stuff!
Mason was baptized at The Woodlands United Methodist Church (in the Robb Chapel where we were married!) on December 18th. Billy was baptized too! Thank you to our families for being there for us on this special day!

4-5 months
*****This blog was written on December 11th, but I never finished it. Might as well post what I had now since he'll be 7 months tomorrow!!!*****
It's been quite a while since I've blogged, and I've missed Mason's 4 and 5 month updates. It's hard to believe he'll be half a year old in a couple of weeks! There's lots to update on, so here goes...
Mason had a 4 month checkup w/ shots at the end of October.
Stats
Weight: 16 lbs. 1 oz (78th percentile)
Height: 26 in. (88th percentile)
They didn't write down the head circumference, but I think it was a little less than 50th percentile.
He'll get weighed and measured again at the end of this month. Also at the end of the month, we'll be starting solids! We decided to wait till 6 months since he is still getting exclusively breastmilk. I don't know ANYTHING about getting a baby started on solids, so this should be a fun journey. :)

A few Mason tidbits for his baby book:
- still eating 5x a day
- still sleeping through the night, sometimes wakes up after a few hours and can easily be soothed back to sleep
- Wearing mostly 9 month clothing. Still can fit some 6 month and sometimes even 12 month.
- Think it's safe to say I'm going to have a brown eyed, dark haired child. :)
- he absolutely LOVES looking in the mirror; he is just in awe everytime
- also loves his walker, can maneuver it pretty well out of tight spots, and likes to go up and down our long entry hall
- 2 long (ish) naps a day, sometimes 2 more very short naps
- has finally been sleeping in his crib at night for a week now (he's been sleeping there for naps for a couple of months). Obviously it was harder on his parents than on him. ;)
- anything and everything goes straight to his mouth
- after being propped up, he can stay and balance well in a sitting position for a good amount of time
- he has rolled from tummy to back quite a few times, but only once or twice from back to tummy. He is very content laying on his back! Why roll over?
- we stopped the swaddle for nighttime sleep
- I still swaddle for naps. I can't help it...he just sleeps so good in it! Baby registry must-have: The Miracle Blanket!!!
- LOVES his tummy tickled
- Laughs a lot when I laugh
- Starting to grab and sometimes pinch your face. Ouch!
- Grabs my hair all the time
